A UK-born, Australia-based comedian who swapped two decades of nursing for the stage.
Georgie Carroll is a UK-born, Australia-based stand-up comedian who spent two decades working as an intensive care and emergency nurse before swapping the ward for the stage. Now based in Adelaide, she draws on that frontline experience for sharp, warm, no-nonsense observational comedy delivered with a distinctly Mancunian directness.
A fixture on the Australian club circuit since 2009, Carroll has performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Perth Fringe World and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where she enjoyed a sold-out debut season. She has won Best Comedy at the Adelaide Fringe and was named Adelaide Comedian of the Year, and is a familiar television face from shows including Have You Been Paying Attention? and Hughesy, We Have a Problem, as well as a 2023 appearance on Britain’s Got Talent.
Her solo shows include Nurse Case Scenario, The Gloves Are Off and the award-winning Sista Flo 2.0, the latter touring internationally and playing venues from the Sydney Opera House to Birmingham. She also hosts the podcast The Swab and wrote the best-selling book Off the Charts.
